Visit to the Pompeii excavations

The first stop of the tour is Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.

Duration and useful advice

The visit lasts approximately 2 hours.
We recommend:

  • wear light clothing
  • use sports shoes
  • bring water with you

There are few shaded areas within the site and, especially in the summer months, temperatures can be high.

Excursion to Vesuvius

Once the visit of Pompeii is over, the driver will take you to Vesuvius, the famous volcano known for its eruption in 79 AD. which destroyed Pompeii, Stabia, Oplontis and Herculaneum.

Characteristics of Vesuvius

Vesuvius has a height of approximately 1180 meters and is a still active explosive volcano.
Its location and the population density of the surrounding area make it one of the best known and monitored volcanoes in Europe.

Visit to the crater

The visit to Vesuvius includes the guide service included in the entrance ticket and lasts approximately 60 minutes.

To reach the crater:

  • a walk of about 20-25 minutes is expected along the slope
  • you arrive near Monte Somma

Once at the top, you will be able to:

  • observe the inside of the crater
  • enjoy a panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples

Wine Tasting

At the end of the visit to Vesuvius, the tour continues with a stop dedicated to tasting local wines at a winery located in the area.

Visit to the vineyards

You will be accompanied along a route through historic vineyards, where high quality wine has been produced for generations.
During the visit the wine production and conservation process will be illustrated.

Tasting and lunch

The experience includes:

  • tasting of typical local wines
  • accompanied with cheeses and local products

It is also possible, upon request, to add:

  • complete lunch with first course, second course and dessert, with a small supplement
